Welcome to the Broadneck Area Youth Sports (BAYS) Fundraising Support website. This website is run by BAYS parent volunteers for the BAYS organization with the goal of raising awarness of how we can advance the BAYS youth athletic programs on our Broadneck Peninsula.
Our primary means of fundraising is through our year-around Apparel Sales and our almost Annual Spring BBQ.
Sports registration fees cover the cost to participate in Anne Arundel County Youth Recreation programs. A large portion of the fees are paid to Anne Arundel County Department of Rec and Parks, to cover the costs of scheduling, referees and oversight. The balance of the registration fees are used to maintain fields, rent gym time and purchase uniforms and other sport-specific equipment.
The purpose of our fundraisers is to go beyond what we can cover with our normal registration fees. We raise funds to help improve our programs with capital investments such as goals, backboards and major field improvements.
Our most recent and visible project has been the complete overhaul of the Field "A" (aka the Bermuda Field). That project was completely paid for by BAYS, and the majority of the funds came from our first 4 years of BBQ Fundraising. Last year we also installed an irrigation system on the Field "C" (aka, Horse Farm Field).
Please support our efforts by attending this year's BBQ on Saturday, May 31st, 3pm - 11pm.
